"You have a big tear and detachment of your retina. That's going to require surgery.  Your vision will be quite blurry in that eye for a few weeks; improving as time goes on, but blurry.  You can expect fairly good vision returning over the next six months or so.  You're scheduled for emergency surgery tomorrow morning."  Not exactly the way I planned to go into my weekend or to wrap up summer.

Working with one good eye has come with a new set of challenges, (and unfortunately, one missed event). But I'm figuring it out, taking my time, and working to create new and (hopefully) fun pieces.
